Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, launches May 3rd, Mon- Friday at 7 pm only on Star Plus. Saath Nibhaana Saathiya revolves around the story of two young girls, Gopi and Rashi who have diverse hopes, dreams and expectations from life. Raised by her despotic Mami, Gopi a nave orphan girl has always been ill treated by her aunt and cousin. All her life being deprived of mother’s love, Gopi lives with immense hopes in her heart with only one expectation from life – an affectionate life partner and finding a mother in her Sasuma. Rashi, in contrast who always believes in having the best and primarily in her own ways wants to get married in an affluent family. Her desires from life are quite averse to Gopi’s as she wishes to have a husband and mother-in-law who would always give in to her rule. Being Gopi’s cousin, Rashi in her undermining ways has never been like a sister to her and has always treated Gopi as a maid. Will Rashi and Gopi get what they want or does destiny has something else in store for them?? Two new faces will be essaying the role of the leads, Jiaa Maanek as Gopi and Rucha Hasabnis as Rashi. Savdhaan India – India Fights Back (transl. Attention India! – India Fights Back) is an Indian Hindi-language crime show aired by Star Bharat. The series was created by Ajit Thakur, Anirban Bhattacharyya, and Amar Deb. It is hosted by Ashutosh Rana, Tisca Chopra, Sushant Singh, Gaurav Chopra, Mohnish Behl, Pooja Gaur, Saurabh Raj Jain, Shivani Tomar, Pratyusha Banerjee, Hiten Tejwani, Divya Dutta, Sidharth Shukla and Mohit Malik. It provides dramatized versions of real-life crimes in India and the story of the struggle of the victims to get justice for their sufferings. Initially, the series aired as Crime Alert on Life OK. A rebooted version of the series called Savdhaan India – India Fights Back began broadcast on Life OK on 23 July 2012. Versions of the program (focusing on a particular Indian state/city) have also aired as Savdhaan India – Maharashtra Fights Back, hosted by Shreyas Talpade, Savdhaan India – Mumbai Fights Back, hosted by Atul Kulkarni,[5] Savdhaan India – Punjab Fights Back and Savdhaan India – U.P Fights Back. The show continued to air on the replacement channel of Life OK which is STAR Bharat from 28 August.
Stories by Rabindranath Tagore – This series is a collection of Rabindranath Tagore stories. Already while watching it I bought myself a book of his stories to read more by him as I loved the scenarios. It is also very amazing how at that time he was already very much pro gender equality as one can see in his strong female characters.
I am not too familiar in Indian culture and it was a nice introduction to the life and traditions back at the time when the stories take place. Each story is unique and beautifully told. The acting is great and what I loved the most was the beautiful scenery one can see in each story that makes one even more interested in that beautiful culture. It was a delight to watch.
An Action Hero – Maanav a top action hero is getting extortion calls from underworld Don Maqsood Ibrahim Katkar which he ignores stating that he isn’t afraid of it being an action hero.While shooting in Haryana Vikram Solanki a strong politician whose contesting elections wants to meet Maanav in order to gain publicity.But before he could meet him Maanav diverts his way to his new car Ford Mustang and goes for a ride this hurts Vicky’s ego an he follows him.A scuffle happens between them where Maanav pushes Vicky to ground and he dies on sport after hitting a blunt stone.In order to escape from everything Maanav elopes to London but Vicky’s brother Bhoora swears to kill him and follows him to London,while in media Maanav is slammed everywhere on news channels.Maanav’s life becomes hell in London as on one can the London cops are searching him on the other end Bhoora wants him dead at any cost.
Cuttputli – Peaceful town of Kasauli is shocked by recent killings of teenage school girls who are brutally murdered.Arjan Sethi since childhood is interested in stories of serial killers and plans to make a Punjabi film on it but has no takers.On the instance of his sister Seema he decides to join the police force in Himachal Pradesh guided by his brother in law Narinder Singh also a cop.Arjan notices that the murders are Modusoperandi of serial killings and is work of a serial killer and discusses with his seniors.But Arjan is taken lightly by his seniors and is made fun off it but the theory actually gets proven on one of the crime site.Arjan’s investigation leads him to a school professor Tomar who sexually abuses his female students and is caught red handed while trying to do so with Payal niece of Arjan and gets beaten by him.While in hospital he denies his hand in killings and attacks Officer Gudia Parmar and gets shot by Arjan, same day Payal goes missing and her corpse is found two days later.But to make matters worse Arjan gets suspended from his duty for shooting Tomar at public place.
Sooryavanshi – 1993 Mumbai as rocked by 14 back to back blasts which changed the image of city forever Kabir Shroff managed to solve the case within two days but feels guilty that master mind Omar Hafeez and Billal eloped from the city.Omar Hafeez over the years planted many attacks in the country and formed a sleeper cell network lead by his son Riyaz Hafeez.Years later Riyaz’s fake identity is traced in Jaisalmer where a team lead by DCP Veer Sooryavanshi goes to arrest him with arrest of Riyaz underworld gets shaken and Omar asks Bilal to return to India.Sooryavanshi finds from Kabir that in 1993 1000 ton RDX came in the city out which 400 ton RDX was used and 600 ton still lies no where and only person who as the idea of this is Bilal.Soorya is going to a tough patch in his personal life as his duty comes first he is very much close to arrest Bilal who commits suicide.Soorya finds that Bilal was in the country after years and also traced missing RDX and met old friend Usmani.Soorya gets a hint that some big attack is going to happen in Mumbai city with activities of Bilal where sleeper cells will be active.In order to save the city two other tough cops Bajirao Singham and Sangram Bhalerao (Simmba) join Soorya in the mission.
Bhuj: The Pride of India – Bhuj : Pride of India is a celebration of the 300 women of Madhapur in Gujarat lead by IAF squadron leader Vijay Karnik who played a pivotal part in India’s victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Karnik with his team, with the help of these local women created history by reconstructing the only IAF airstrip at Bhuj destroyed during war. Karnik was lauded for his valiant efforts which saved the day for the Indians. The film will be a tribute to unparalleled bravado displayed by not only Karnik but 300 women from the villages near Bhuj who accomplished this feat.
Radhe – Drugs mafia has increased in India where more and more youngsters are addicted to drugs and taking their lives ,The Mumbai police decides to get back suspended officer Radhe on duty to clean the city.Radhe joins soon and firstly makes two rival groups of Dagdu Dada and Dilwar to join hands as they are against drugs business and will help him clean the city.Radhe’s reporting officer is funny ACP Avinash Abhyankar who runs away with Radhe’s credits while Radhe loves Avinash’s sister Dia and pretends to be an upcoming model.Rana the drug lord who has landed in Mumbai and forces people to sell drugs and gets Dilwar killed from his brother Mansoor who works for him,Radhe manages to trace Rana which starts a long cat an mouse race between them.
Tanhaji – Tanhaji is an action epic about the titular Maratha warrior and Shivaji’s military commander who lost his father in a battle and grew up to become a fierce warrior with powerful combat skills. When Mughal emperor Aurangzeb recruits his trusted guard Udaybhan to take control of the Kondhana Fort, Shivaji decides not to engage Tanhaji whose son is going to get married soon. However, as Tanhaji learns of Udaybhan’s heading towards the fortress, he decides to take charge and stop the rival army from reaching their destination. This doesn’t turn out to be easy as Udaybhan finds himself helped by people who don’t want Tanhaji to succeed, resulting in battles and attacks that ensue as the plot unfolds.
